Arawn

Mythology: Islander
Portfolio: Death
Large Temples: Caer Uffren
Symbols: Bloody Antlers

Pronunciation

uh-RAUN

Arawn is king of the dead, ruler of Annwn, the underworld in Islander mythology. He is usually pictured either with a stag's head or wearing a crown of antlers. In all cases, his antlers drip blood.

The Cwn Annwn, the Hounds of Annwn, are his messengers of doom.

The only actual temple to Arawn is in Caer Uffren, however, followers of Arawn will celebrate ceremonies in places overlooking shipwrecks. Many followers also carry a piece of wood from a sunken ship.

See Arawn for more information.
