Markovi Kuli is a fortress in Dassaretum Province, Empire of Makhaira. It is located just south of Irtysh Oblast, Matriarchate of Periaslavl on the North Road. Its current taxiarch is Jozica Filipovic.
The site is a prominent feature in the surrounding landscape and is surrounded by legends. Some claim that this was of the major fortress of the Akkermenian Empire and that a legendary battle was fought in the area. No records remain to support either of these legends, of course.
Later legends name this as Prince Marko's hall, hence the name Markovi Kuli. Again, whether this is true or not, no records remain.
What is known is that the site traded hands many times over the years, which is to be expected given its strategic importance. In 1283 IR, the Empire of Makhaira finally extended their frontier to here, and has continually added and updated the fortifications of Markovi Kuli over the centuries.
