The Akritoi is a cohort in the Legio XVIII Dassaretica. It is normally based in Achrida, Dassaretum Province in the Empire of Makhaira. Its current chiliarch is Stanko Milic, but he serves mostly only a ceremonial and political role. Hecatontarch Tevfik Michelakis is its primary military commander.
The Akritoi wield maces and other short weapons, but their primary armament is the heavy composite bow. They wear little armor.
Most of its members are from the Enchelei tribe.
